It was Friday, so it is a routine for me and my colleagues to have lunch at a place that we have never been to. We went to Giyanti Coffee that was only a 5-minute drive from our office. For the fact that it opens at 8 a.m., and adding all the good reviews about it, it was almost impossible for me not to pay them a visit. The place was packed when we arrive, but it took only 5 minutes for us to get a table.
Spacious is the word I would choose to describe Giyanti Coffee’s interior with indoor and outdoor seatings. Modern colours, decor and art make up the interior of this well-established coffee shop. There are a lot of seating options with different ambiences.
While ordering your coffee, the staff will ask the intensity of coffee desired; light, medium or strong. Giyanti Coffee currently does not serve food except a small selection of pastries, which include Apple Pie, Eggtart Portuguese, Almond Croissant and Lamington.
Hot Mocca Melt IDR 46k
The Hot Mocca Melt was my order and it did not dissapoint. The mocha was balanced with not too much chocolate and not as much milk. It also had an aromatic, roasted texture as I sip into the cup.
Americano IDR 38k
My friend orderd an Americano, one that was strong but smooth.
Canele IDR 35k
The Canele was crisp and caramelized on the outside, with soft, custardy centre. The taste of the Canele itself was not overly sweet and went really well with the additional caramel on the side.
Chicken Pie IDR 47k
The crispy pie contrasted well with the tender chicken, however it was missing a bit of kick. It could be well improved with a bit of spice. Nonetheless, it was still tasty.
Lamington IDR 45k
The Lamington was made of a vanilla spongecake dipped in chocolate and coated with shredded coconut. I loved how this spongecake was moist enough, soft and buttery.
Overall, I had a positive experience dining at Giyanti Coffee. A gorgeous ambience and decor make this cafe a visual masterpiece. While the venue itself is incredible, the coffee is what steals the show. It brings no surprise as to why this cafe is always so busy and packed.
